THORACIC-ABDOMINAL-PELVIC SCANNER

A thoracic-abdominal-pelvic CT scan explores the entire thorax, abdomen and pelvis. This examination is used to diagnose and monitor tumour, infectious or inflammatory pathologies.

CEREBRAL SINUS SCAN WITH OR WITHOUT INJECTION

A brain scan without injection is prescribed in cases of cranial trauma with suspected haemorrhage or haematoma, or to assess cerebral vascular obstruction by a clot (ischaemic stroke) prior to surgery. The choice of MRI with or without injection depends mainly on the nature of the organs that the radiologist will need to explore. For example, to visualise vascular structures such as the coronary arteries, a contrast agent must be injected.

PITUITARY CEREBRAL MRI

Cerebral MRI is the examination of choice for diagnosing cerebral pathologies such as: the presence of blood clots in the brain, confusion, disturbances in consciousness (Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases), hydrocephalus (accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain).

FEMALE PELVIC MRI

Pelvic MRI is a gynaecological examination, without X-rays, which explores the entire pelvic anatomy: ovaries, uterus, bladder, rectum. It is a second-line examination, usually performed after a pelvic ultrasound to clarify or confirm a diagnosis made during the ultrasound examination.
